The
detailed methodology of issuing energy performance certificates for
buildings, apartments and units designed for separate use and the
detailed content of the certificate is specified in the Decree of the
Minister of Infrastructure of 6 November 2008 (Journal of Laws 74,
item 836).
EP
certificate contains the following information about a building or an
apartment:
-
EP indicator,
that expresses the yearly demand for non-renewable primary energy,
reflects the building’s energy use and the energy source. A low EP
indicator means either low energy consumption or that part of the
consumed energy is produced from a renewable source.
-
Final energy indicator,
expressing
building’s final energy demand balanced with energy production
efficiency.
-
Technical conditions indicator -
calculated on the
basis of “Technical conditions for buildings and their
localization” –
reference value for the calculated EP indicator.
Energy
demand denotes energy used for:
and
for public buildings additionally:
EP
certificate, apart from the basic inventory data has to contain
guidelines on how to decrease energy use in the building or
apartment.
Unfortunately,
in Polish methodology there is no division of buildings into classes,
which for many people makes it difficult to understand the results of
certification and then the certificate is of little practical use.
